Adam Dixon

Adam D. Dixon is a senior lecturer in economic geography and founding director of the MSc in Environmental Policy and Management at the University of Bristol. His research focuses on comparative economic geography, the geography of finance, the political economy of institutional investors, and corporate environmental management. He has a strong record of academic publications and international consulting engagements. He is co-author with Gordon L. Clark and Ashby H.B. Monk of Sovereign Wealth Funds: Legitimacy, Governance and Global Power (2013, PUP) and the author of The Geography of Capitalism: Firms, Finance, and Society (forthcoming 2014, OUP). Dr. Dixon is also a visiting scholar at Stanford’s Global Projects Center and a visiting research associate at the University of Oxford. He completed his D.Phil, entitled "Pension Fund Capitalism in Europe", at the School of Geography and the Environment, University of Oxford, in 2009, having spent the 2007/08 academic year as a Scatcherd European visiting scholar at Maastricht University. Prior to this, he received a master's in finance from L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris (Sciences Po) and a bachelor's degree in international affairs (international economics concentration) from The George Washington University in Washington, DC.
