14-12-12 | Awards |

On Friday 14 December Prof. Dr. Harry Hummels received the Amsterdam Private Equity Club (APEC) Award for his contribution to the emerging field of Impact Investing. By awarding Harry Hummels the APEC board recognizes the importance of Impact Investing as a new and promising kid on the investment block. Together with his good friend and colleague Theo Brouwers, Harry leads a very enthusiastic and qualified team at SNS Impact Investing. In addition, he is the European Liaison of the Global Impact Investing Network – the world’s leading organisation on impact investing. Next to designing and implementing investment strategies in the field of impact investing and helping to create a network and a market place for impact investments, professor Hummels studies the field and teaches on this exciting topic. In his acceptance speech Harry called on the members of the Dutch Private Equity community to analyse the wealth of opportunities that is readily available for investment and judge for themselves what they can do to invest in a better future for society - while making a solid return. Looking at the evidence Harry Hummels is clearly convinced of the added value of Impact Investing – both financially and socially. Attached you may find his acceptance speech (in Dutch).
